Williamstown Police Seek Information on Hit-and-RunStaff reports iBerkshires 06:19PM / Tuesday, July 14, 2009
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Police are seeking information on a hit-and-run accident that injured a bicyclist early Tuesday.
The accident occurred at about 7 a.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Hancock and Old Mill roads. Police and Village Ambulance Service received a call about a cyclist with an unknown medical problem.
The man, who was not indentified, told police he had been struck by a motor vehicle that did not stop. A second motorist noticed the cyclist stopped to help. The man was taken to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield with chest and back injuries that police said did not appear life-threatening.
No description of the vehicle was available from the victim; police did find pieces of red broken lens that may have come from the vehicle.
Anyone with information about the accident is urged to contact Williamstown Police at 413-458-5733. Information may remain anonymous. |
| Why is there no mention of the off duty N.A. firefighter who stopped to assist this poor man? As it is, this firefighter is a member of the family of a close friend of the man who was hit. What a small world. Turns out he had some serious ,life threatening injuries and could very well have died were it not for the firefighter and the other motorist that assisted the man. Here, here to these people who stopped to assist. More people should take notice. "No good deed goes undone." | | from: PROUD FAMILY MEMBER | on: 07-20-2009 |
