Cosmetics Line Founder to Speak at Annual Women in Business Luncheon
11:22AM / Wednesday, July 22, 2009
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Jane Iredale will be the keynote speaker at the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce's annual Celebrating Women in Business luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
The lunch will be held from 11:45 to 1 at Berkshire Hills Country Club.
Iredale is president and founder of Iredale Mineral Cosmetics. She was the first to offer a full-line of makeup based on minerals, and the first to see the potential of offering physicians a makeup that was good for the skin. She has worked with world-renowned plastic surgeons and dermatologists in the development of her line, and lectures all over the world on its benefits.
She has said her experience in working with women whose careers depended on a clear complexion has allowed her to see how skin disorders and sensitivities not only threaten careers, but can also destroy self-confidence. This is what led her to develop a makeup line that could contribute to the lives of women by aiding the health of the skin.
Jessica Layton of News Channel 13 will be the emcee. Layton joined the News Channel 13 team in November 2006 as the Berkshire news chief. In 2008, she took over the anchor duties on its "Weekend Today." She now splits her time between the Albany, N.Y., and Berkshire newsrooms.
The public is welcome to attend. The cost is $30 for chamber members and $45 for non-members and includes a plated lunch. The luncheon is sponsored by TD Banknorth.
