Berkshire Children's Circus Camp Presents Grande Finale01:36PM / Monday, August 10, 2009
PITTSFIELD, Mass. - The Berkshire Children’s Circus Camp will present its annual Grande Finale performance Friday evening, Aug. 14, at 7, and again Saturday afternoon, Aug. 15, at 1, in the Paterson Field House at Berkshire Community College.
The one-ring performance is the culminating event of three weeks of training and practice that allows its young performers, ages 8-15, to display new skills and self-confidence in front of a live audience. Suitable especially for families with young children, each performance includes all the excitement of the Big Top and consists of such acts as tumbling, artistic cycling, juggling, clowning, stilt and wire walking, trapeze skills, and pyramids.
Tickets, which will be available at the door, are $4 per person. Campers will help sell cotton candy, popcorn, hot dogs, drinks, and souvenirs at each show.
Following last year’s retirement of Richard Hamilton and Betsy Bean, who started the camp in 1993, this year’s circus camp welcomes Tammy Keeny and Suzanne Rappaport as camp director and artistic director, respectively. |
