Chapters Bookstore Presents Jean Germaine, Jazz From Row Six09:25AM / Thursday, August 13, 2009
PITTSFIELD, Mass. - Just in time for the Tanglewood Jazz Festival, Chapters Bookstore, located at 78 North St. is proud to welcome Jean Germaine, author of Jazz From Row Six to the event room on Wednesday September 2, 2009, at 6PM.
A Monterey resident for forty-five years, Jean Germaine is an award winning photographer, and now adds author of Jazz From Row Six to her resume. Jean's book has just received a Gold Medal in the 2009 Indie Book Awards. Jazz From Row Six is a splendid coffee table book that chronicles Jean's photographs of big band musicians, some of whom will be performing this year at the Tanglewood Jazz Festival, taken from 1981-2007.
Few photographers have had the opportunity to follow their subjects over the course of decades as Jean has documenting the legends of jazz, many of who were performing well into their 80's and 90's. Jean captures her subjects in a warm embrace of appreciation. Jazz From Row Six will appeal to both lovers of jazz and admirers of great photography.
Light refreshments will be served.
This event is free and open to the public. |
