Sustainability
Bascom Lodge will host Lauren Moffat, who will speak about sustainability at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. The lodge is at the summit of Mount Greylock. The talk is free; there will be a fixed-price dinner afterward. Information 413-743-1591.
TV Open House
On Thursday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m., Northern Berkshire Community Television Corp. holds an open house for adults interested in helping with television coverage of local school events.
Farmers Market
Rain or shine, the North Adams Farmers Market will be open on Saturday morning, Sept. 19, from 8 to 12:30 p.m. Our favorite market time, with bountiful late-summer harvest available. EBT cards, Elder and WIC coupons accepted. Information: 413-664-6180.
History Walk
Historian Paul W. Marino leads a free walk centered around the history of the Veazie Street area of the city on Saturday, Sept. 19. Meet at the corner of River and Veazie at 2:30 p.m. Information: 413-207-1344.
Improv
The Royal Berkshire Improv Troupe, RBIT, will perform at 57 Main St. at the Main Street Stage on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 8 p.m. RBIT is a comedy improv group that has been delighting audiences with its own brand of non-scripted comedic mayhem since June 2001. Tickets are $10 at the door.
Singing at the Elf

Sky Theater

Latin Beat
In a celebration co-sponsored by MCLA’s African, Latino, Asian, and Native American Student Clubs and Organizations, MCLA Presents! begins recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month and the 2009-2010 season with a free community concert featuring Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra in the MCLA Quad on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 3 p.m.
Knit One, Purl Two

Fall Foliage Approaches!
The Berkshires Fall Foliage Festival begins with the Charity Bed Race on Saturday, Sept. 26, on Main Street.
The Family Fun Day Celebration will be held Sunday, Sept. 27, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Noel Field Complex near Joe Wolfe Field on State Street. Children and families will enjoy games, giveaways, information and entertainment. The fair begins with the children's road race. Call 413-664-6180 for information and a list of foliage events.
