30th Anniversary of the Lenox Apple Squeeze

LENOX, Mass. - The 30th Annual Apple Squeeze will proudly be presented on Saturday and Sunday, September 26 & 27, 2009. This celebration of life in Lenox, MA. is the ‘‘Hometown Block Party” of the year. Activities for children of all ages will abound.

The Morris School PTA will have Pony Rides and a score of children’s play activities in Lilac Park. Face painting and the Community Centers bouncy-bounce will be in the Reading Park of the Lenox Library. Our famous tractor-pulled  Hay Rides  will take everyone on our scenic tour of downtown Lenox.

There will be a grand Lenox Fire Company Parade to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Lenox Fire Company on Sunday, September 27th at 1pm on Main Street. Foods from all nations will be presented along with “Apples” and wines from our own Furnace Brook Winery at Hilltop Orchards.

The Apple and all it’s possibilities will be on hand everywhere. Apple chili, Apple turnovers, Apple soup, Apple Dumplings,  Apple Pancakes and even APPLE PIES and desserts. Entertainment at Berkshire Leather and Silver and at  Firefly’s Restaurant will fill the air. 

The 30th Annual Apple Squeeze will be fun for all and it is the place to be this wonderful  Apple Harvest  September weekend. 10-6pm, both days. For further information: Lenox Chamber of Commerce 413-637-3646.

Ghost Tours At Ventfort Hall

LENOX, Mass. — Robert Oakes, author of "Ghosts of the Berkshires," leads you through the rooms and halls of this historic estate sharing tales of its alleged hauntings.
 
There will be a tour on May 3 at 7 pm.
 
Admission is $30 and minimum age to attend is age 12. Reservations are strongly recommended as tickets are limited. Walk-ins accommodated as space allows.

Robert Oakes is an author, teacher, storyteller, and singer/songwriter originally from northern New Jersey and currently residing in the Berkshires. Since 2010 Robert has led the ghost tours at Edith Wharton's The Mount in Lenox and has represented the museum and its ghosts on Syfy's Ghost Hunters, Jeff Belanger's New England Legends series on PBS, and The Apple Seed show on BYUradio.
