Images to Feature Evening of Live Music01:00PM / Thursday, September 24, 2009
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Images Cinema presents an evening of live music on Thursday, Oct. 1, starting at 9:15 p.m. The opening act is "Cabinets," a musical project by local artist Ven Voisey.
Then singer/songwriter and animator Laura Goldhamer will perform with Silvernail, with video projections of her animation.
Tickets are $5. Images Cinema is located at 50 Spring St.
Laura Goldhamer and the Silvernail most frequently performs as a trio of musicians using banjo, guitar, some drums (Tyler Ludwick), keys (Griff Snyder), voice and video projections of stop-frame animations that Goldhamer creates and to illustrate her song lyrics.
Voisey's "Cabinets" combines elements of folk, electronic minimalism, found-sounds, and field recording. The resulting work finds itself somewhere between Leonard Cohen, songs sung by the Muppets, a warped-tape-loop answering machine, and a some esoteric piece of beeping, breathing medical equipment. |
