WATERVILLE, ME. – Playing away from Cole Field for the first time all season long, the Williams women’s soccer team (7-0, 3-0) showed they play to win anytime, and anywhere, defeating conference opponent Colby (1-3-1, 0-2-1), 3-0.

The win certainly did not come without a few bumps in the road, as the Ephs' were kept scoreless in the opening half, tallying their first goal just mid-way into the second period.

“I think it was different playing away from home in that it took us a little while to settle into a rhythm,” said Williams’ head coach Michelyne Pinard. “Colby did a good job of disrupting our rhythm, but we did have some chances in the first half and just could not finish. It finally came in the second half.”

Sarah Walmsley and Annelise Snyder teamed up for a goal for the fifth time this season, with Snyder taking a corner kick that Walmsley netted for the 1-0 lead at the 65:58 mark. Walmsley would strike again just five minutes later at the 70:02 mark off a cross from teammate Tyler Rainer to put the Ephs' up to a more comfortable 2-0 lead.

Sachi Siegleman closed out the games offensive production for the Ephs', scoring off a long ball in the final ten minutes of play. Chloe Kuh assisted on the goal.

Julia Schreiber is now 4-0 on the season and played her first full game of the season, recording eight saves in today’s win. Loni Pisani of Colby had 16 saves in the loss.

Third-ranked Williams will take on #16 Amherst on Saturday, October 3 at 1:30 p.m.

“We’re all excited to have a full week of training without game interruption to prepare f or next weekend,” said Pinard.
