WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Plunge into the landscape this fall at the Williams College Museum of Art with a free family program on Saturday, October 17 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Experience new exhibitions with ongoing family gallery tours of A Strong Impression: William Morris Hunt's Niagara and Alec Soth: NIAGARA, which focus on different views of Niagara Falls by painters, photographers, and illustrators.
Hands-on art activities will be offered–capture the colors of the fall season and experiment with pastels to create images of the landscape, or set the landscape in motion by crafting an optical illusion device using nineteenth-century animation techniques. After touring the sights of Niagara Falls, families can create their own custom-designed postcards to record their memories of Fall using Polaroid cameras, writing, and collage.
This event is FREE and open to the public. Children of all ages are welcome. For more information, visit www.wcma.org.
