The medical care costs of people with chronic diseases account for more than 75% of the nation’s $1.4 trillion medical care costs.
Wednesday, October 28, 2009, Berkshire AHEC will present a full day advanced level conference “Improving Patient Outcomes in Chronic Disease Management at Cranwell Resort in Lenox, MA.
Mary Pat Roy, MD, FACE, CCD, Director, Center for Healthy Bones, Northampton will present Test Your Osteoporosis IQ;, Gray Ellrodt, MD, Chair of Medicine at Berkshire Medical Center, Pittsfield will address Cardiovascular Disease Management; Arthur Kim, MD, Division of Infectious Disease, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston will speak on Improving Outcomes for Those Living with HCV; Optimizing Outpatient Care for Patients with Type 2 Diabetes will be discussed by Jack Leahy, MD Professor of Medicine, Chief of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, University of Vermont and Mark M. Wilson, MD, Associate Director, Medical Intensive Care Unit, UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester will end the day with Patient-Focused Strategies in Optimizing Care in COPD.
