The DCR under Deval-appointee leadership has a PAYROLL of over 61 million dollars, yet they can’t pay someone to unlock a gate to open Nickerson State Park on Cape Cod on-time on the first long weekend of our short New England camping season: Patriots Day (Marathon) weekend. This past spring, hundreds of campers that traditionally camp on the first spring holiday were angered to be turned away. Before Deval, this jewel of our Massachusetts State Park system was open year round! We pay layers of administrators to promote use of our parks while they are closed or not staffed! A disgrace with all the money we pay!! The state should maintain a basic level of services so working families can vacation with there families during these tough economic times at the parks – which belong to the people!!
