The Drury High School marching band leads the way in last year's Fall Foliage Festival Parade.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Fall Foliage Festival will be in full swing this weekend, beginning with the annual ziti supper on Thursday and ending with the 56th annual Fall Foliage Parade on Sunday.

The Northern Berkshire Fall Foliage Festival Parade Committee has released the schedule of events leading up to the parade on Sunday at 1.

Thursday, Sept.  29

Fall Foliage Ziti Supper
St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish will hold its annual ziti supper at the Parish Center. Dinner includes ziti and meatballs, salad, bread and butter and a beverage. Desserts will also be available. Call the Parish Center at 413-663-7331 for more details. Seatings from 4 to 7.

Friday, Sept. 30

Annual Children's Parade
Children from throughout Northern Berkshire are encouraged to make costumes and enter the parade. This year's theme is "Take PAWS in Northern Berkshire." Participants must arrive at the corner of Main and Eagle Streets at 5; parade begins at 5:30 and will proceed west on Main Street to City Hall. Ribbons will be given to all participants. Group and float winners will be invited to participate in the Fall Foliage Parade.


Last year's children's parade was all about heroes.
Fish Fry and DJ in the Lounge Area

Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 515 Curran Highway. Fish fry begins at 4; the DJ in the Lounge begins at 7. Call the Eagles at 413-664-9043 for more information.

Annual North County Gospel Festival
Hosted by First Congregational Church beginning at 7. The concert will feature a 30-plus ecumenical choir made up of members of the local church community. The concert will feature contemporary arrangements of gospel and spiritual songs and hymns. The performance, directed by Scott Bailey, will help to raise money for the Berkshire Food Project, a local food pantry that provides more than 20,000 free meals every year. Saturday, Oct. 1

Farmers' Market
Runs from 8 to noon in the St. Anthony Municipal Parking Lot across from Mass MoCA offering harvest season fruit, vegetables and other produce and homemade goods for sale. Call the Mayor’s Office of Tourism for details, 413-664-6180.

Doggie Costume Party
The Dog Parade is canceled because of Saturday's rainy forecast. Hower, well-behaved dogs on leashes and their owners are invited to a party instead at Bark 'N' Cat's new shop on Holden Street . Registration is at 8:45, party begins at 9 a.m. This year's costume theme is "Take PAWS in Northern Berkshire." Prizes will be awarded and the winners invited to walk in Sunday's parade.


Pooches get their own parade, too.
Pet Psychic

Following the parade, North Adams Commons on Franklin Street is offering free pet psychic readings with Bonnie Strange. Dogs, cats and any other pets are welcome. Parking will be reserved in the Wells Avenue parking lot; participants are encouraged to enter via the side entrance from the parking lot. Light refreshments, including pet treats, will be provided. Autumn Arts & Crafts Festival 
Talented artists and crafters selling handmade art and practical craft pieces from all over New England from 9 to 3 at the American Legion. For more information or to sign up, contact the Office of Tourism at 413-664-6180.

Tag Sale
The Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 515 Curran Highway, will hold a tag sale from 10 to 2.Call the Eagles at 413-664-9043 for more information.

Fall Foliage Dance
The Fraternal Order of the Eagles will host bandsPhil 'N' The Blanks and Static from 9 to 1; $5 cover at the door. Call the Eagles at 413-664-9043 for more information.

Sunday, Oct. 2

All You Can Eat Breakfast
The Eagles serves up its annual parade day breakfast from 7 to 11. Cost is $6 for adults; seniors and children under 10 are $5. Call the Eagles at 413-664-9043 for more information.

Barbeque Grilling
The Rotary Club of North Adams will be grilling from 10 to 1 at the entrance of the Walmart parking lot (parade staging  area). Hot dogs, hamburgers and cold drinks. Proceeds benefit the Rotary children’s Christmas party.

Parade-side BBQ

The Eagles follows breakfast with its BBQ and a DJ in the club lounge after the parade. All are welcome! Call the Eagles at 413-664-9043 for more information.

Annual 5k Road Race
Race begins at 12:30 p.m. For race and registration information call 413-663-3741. Sponsored by Greylock Federal Credit Union, supporting Newspapers in Education.

56th Annual Fall Foliage Parade
U.S. Rep. John W. Olver is this year's grand marshal. Parade steps off from the Walmart parking lot at 1 and heads north to Main Street with bands, floats and marching units highlighting the beautiful foliage and reminding paradegoers to "Take PAWS" in Northern Berkshire.
