NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Dr. Stephanie Foo of Milton has joined North Adams Regional Hospital's hospitalist program.
Foo completed her residency in internal medicine at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., providing inpatient and outpatient care. She earned her medical degree from the Institute of Medicine in Yangon, Myanmar, where she was also an anatomy instructor.
As a hospitalist, Foo will see patients who are admitted to hospital's critical care unit and general medical/surgical unit on 3rd North.
Hospitalists are experts in inpatient internal medicine and concentrate on the care of adult patients, while keeping primary-care doctors involved in their patients' care. A hospitalist is a physician whose practice is dedicated entirely to the care of hospitalized patients. They work as a team to be available to patients 24 hours a day. The hospitalist program at NARH allows the area's primary-care physicians to focus on outpatient and prevention services.
NARH hospitalists are employed by Sound Physicians, a leading hospitalist organization. For more information on the program, visit www.nbhealth.org
