Pittsfield Doctor Named Community Clinician of the Year

The Community Clinician of the Year Award was established in 1998 by the Massachusetts Medical Society to recognize a physician from each of the society's 20 district medical societies who has made significant contributions to his or her patients and the community and who stands out as a leading advocate and caregiver. He received the award last month at the district society's annual meeting.
Board certified in internal medicine, critical-care medicine, and pulmonary diseases, Doyle is the medical director of the intensive care unit and a consultant in pulmonary diseases at Berkshire Medical Center, positions he has held since 1985.
He also is chairman of BMC's Intensive Care Unit, Continuing Care Unit and Acute Respiratory Care Committee and is a member of the Endoscopy, Transfusion, Trauma Committee and Influenza committees.
A graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1978, Doyle is an assistant professor in medicine at UMass Medical School and a board member of the Pittsfield Anti-Tuberculosis Association.
