NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Stamford (Vt.) Elementary pupils, staff and parents enjoyed an activity-filled Friday afternoon at Windsor Lake for the school's annual field day.

The Parent-Teacher Organization sets up and fundraises for the annual event, which helps raise school spirit, parent and PTO member Jen Belisle said. The pupils, staff and parents celebrated with a pizza party, a relay race, lakeside activities and the competitive staff versus students Wiffle Ball match, which featured Principal Beth Choquette on the mound.

"Everyone is having a good time, relaxing," Stacy Abuisi, a parent and PTO member, said.

"Perfect day for a field day...It's wonderful," said Alice "Dr. J" Jenkins, the fifth-through-eigth grade science and mathematics teacher.

The PTO also purchased Stamford Field Day 2012 T-shirts for all the students.

Students participated in a wide range of activities, ranging from Wiffle Ball to shirt decorating.
