After, a round table discussion will be held for any questions and comments about the movie, occupy or the gallery and art. The director of the film is a husband and father from central MA and he focuses on occupy efforts made around the north east.

The City of North Adams in conjunction with the 57th Annual Fall Foliage Festival is once again sponsoring an Arts and Crafts Fair. The event will take place in the downtown area of North Adams along Main Street. This is a rain or shine event (in case of heavy rain, the event will be held at The Elks Lodge). In "Fixing the Future", host David Brancaccio visits locations across America that are using sustainable an innovative approaches to create jobs and build prosperity, inspiring hope and renewal amidst economic collapse. The film highlights effective, local practices such as: local business alliances, community banking, time banking/hour exchange, worker cooperatives and local currencies. A  panel discussion including Alicia Maggio of Berkshares, Jonathan Secor from MCLA's Berkshire Cultural Resource Center, Julie Lineberger from LineSync, and Pastor David Mangun will follow the screening.

Spectrum Cable Hearing Set in North Adams

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — A public hearing for the renewal of the cable television contract for four North Berkshire communities will be held on Wednesday, April 24, at 6 p.m. at City Hall. 
 
The 10-year contract with Spectrum/Charter Communications will cover the city of North Adams and the towns of Adams, Cheshire and Clarksburg. 
 
The hearing in Council Chambers is open to residents of all four communities. In-person attendance is encouraged but a remote option is available here via Zoom
 
Topics covered during the hearing will include the future of cable-related community needs and interests (community television) and performance of the operator under the cable license. It does not include internet or other provided services. 
 
The hearing is required under state law as part of the contract renewal process. Any documents or reports relating to the contract can be obtained through the governmental offices of each community.
