LANESBOROUGH, Mass. — The 6th annual Lanesborough Firemen's Association Block Dance was in full swing at Laston Field by the time featured band Whiskey City stepped on stage.
Blackwater had the crowd — a mix of all ages — pumped up for the fundraising event's finale band.
Notable vendors included Ye Olde Forge, Riga-Bello's Fried Dough and Krispy Kone.
Association Treasurer PJ Pannesco said about 900 were expected to attend the block dance, about on par with other years. Organized by co-Chairmen Steven Michalak and Jeff Dechaine, the event raises money for maintaining the fire station, as well training programs, new equipment and community education.
The Block Dance continues to be the largest locally organized event in Lanesborough and is considered to be one of the summer's biggest highlights for the town.
