PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Sunday's 15-year-old Babe Ruth Western Mass State Championship game between Pittsfield and Holden was suspended due to rain in the top of the fourth inning with Pittsfield leading, 5-3.
The game will resume at Deming Field on Monday at 3 p.m.
Should Pittsfield hold on, it will win the double-elimination tournament. Holden, the survivor of the losers' bracket, can force a winner-take-all final if it comes back to win the suspended game.
Earlier on Sunday, Joe Rubin pitched Holden to an 11-5 win over Westfield to reach the final. Erik Bjorn hit a three-run home run in the victory for Holden.
