NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- A co-ed charity softball tournament this weekend will benefit a local 3-year-old boy battling Burkett lymphoma.
The inaugural Carson Willette Co-Ed Benefit Softball Tournament will be held Saturday and, if necessary, Sunday at Noel Fiel dand DiSanti Field starting at 9 a.m.
Teams can register on Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Hot Dog Ranch at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $150 per team; teams will consist of five women and five men.
The tournament will feature a raffle with items donated by the Hot Dog Ranch, the Golden Eagle, the Freight Yard Pub, Mingo's Bar and Grill, Desparado's, the Moonlight Diner, Jiminy Peak, The Hub, Village Pizza, Arizona Pizza, Jack's Hot Dog Stand, Sicssor Sisterz, The Cottage in Williamstown and more.
The grand prize is a diamond cancer ribbon necklace donated by Atef Fine Jeweler.
Players and spectators will be able to participae in the Chinese auction, purchase refreshments and support "Team Carson" by buying $5 wrist bands.
Depending on the number of teams participating, the event may extend to two days.
