Southwestern Vermont Health Care Names New Director of Communications

BENNINGTON, Vt. — Southwestern Vermont Health Care has appointed of Ray Smith as director of marketing and communications.
Smith previously was assistant vice president, marketing officer at Berkshire Bank in Pittsfield. In his new role, he will oversee the health system’s communications and marketing efforts.
“Communicating effectively with patients is a part of our mission to provide exceptional care,” said Leslie Keefe, vice president for corporate development. “Ray’s experience and success in banking demonstrates his ability to relay complex messages in ways that resonate with the public.”
Smith’s nearly 20-year career includes marketing positions at the Berkshire Visitors Bureau in Pittsfield and Adams Community Bank in Adams, among others.
Smith received his bachelor’s in communications from Colby-Sawyer in New London, N.H., and his master’s from Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y.
“We are delighted to welcome Ray to our team. His skills and service-minded experience will be an asset to Southwestern Vermont Health Care,” Keefe said.
