BURLINGTON, Vt. -- The Berkshire Mountaineers AAU girls basketball team improved to 15-0 this season by taking three games and the tournament title at the Maple Syrup Classic.
The team of four sixth-graders and seven seventh-graders, playing against mostly eighth-grade competition, won most games by 20 or more points.
Also this weekend, the Mountaineers’ eighth-grade team won three out of its four games, and the 11th-graders won the Maple Syrup Classic title as well.
The sixth/seventh-grade team includes: Delaney Babcock, Abby Bird, Rylie Bishop, Abby Hugger, Alyssa Garabedian, Jayden Johnson, Sharaya Keele, Averie McGrath, Kaylee Tatro, Grace Towler and Rylynn Witek.
The team is coached by Shaun McGrath and Jeff Johnson.
The Mountaineers head to Westfield College for a tournament this weekend.
