Southwestern Vermont Health Care Appoints One to Board of Trustees
BENNINGTON, Vt. — Southwestern Vermont Health Care has announced the appointment of Stephen Kelly to its Board of Trustees.
"Stephen has an accomplished background in helping nonprofit organizations fulfill their missions while meeting their financial and regulatory obligations," said Tommy Harmon, SVHC board chair. "I anticipate that he will make important contributions to our work, and I am delighted to have him join our organization."
Kelly works as the chief financial officer for The Boma Project, a 106-employee international non-profit headquartered in Manchester, Vt., which works to relieve poverty in East Africa. In the past, he served as chief financial officer for Meals on Wheels of Rockland and as president of Heron's Ghyll Builders, a custom home builder, both in New York State. He lives in Andover, Vt.
"We are grateful for the time and expertise our trustees contribute to SVHC,” said Thomas A. Dee, SVHC's president and CEO. "Stephen will add a new perspective to our board, and I look forward to working with him to advance our mission of providing exceptional care and comfort to the people we serve."
Board members are nominated by the board's Nominating Committee and voted on by the entire board. In selecting new SVHC board members, the nominating committee looks for candidates who exemplify SVHC's values, can be counted on to actively participate in board work, and have leadership capabilities.
