Marie L. Gattuso
Marie Louise Gattuso, 84, of 48 College Ave. died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital.Born in North Adams on May 10, 1918, daughter of Alfred and Roseanne Lanier Lefebvre, she attended North Adams schools.
Mrs. Gattuso was employed by Sprague Electric Co. for 47 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and a member of the Sprague Electric Quarter Century Club.
Her husband, Anthony J. Gattuso Sr. whom she married July 18, 1937, died Feb. 2, 1989.
She leaves a daughter, Barbara Serre of North Adams, with whom she made her home; two sons, Anthony J. Gattuso Jr. of Pittsfield and Gary A. Gattuso of Adams; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four brothers and four sisters, Leo, Joseph, Edward and Alfred Lefebvre and Rose Chalaux, Merida Mary Baldassarini, Elizabeth Benoit and Rita Copper.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church Parish Center in North Adams, with the Rev. Michael Twardzik, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams, as celebrant. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for St. Anthony's Church.
