Joseph Loholdt,79

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Joseph Peter Loholdt, 79, of 1072 State Road, North Adams, MA, died on July 21, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Easton, Pennsylvania, on August 12, 1939, the son of Charles J. and Nagle (Unnan) Loholdt, he graduated from Drury High School. While attending Drury, he was an active band member playing the trumpet. Joe had a love of music and enjoyed listening to all types.

Following high school, Joe enlisted in the 1059th Transportation Tactical Carrier Company of Adams, Army National Guard. Joe worked as a store manager for the Adams Supermarket for many years before leaving in 1980 to join his brother Charlie in expanding Loholdt Brothers Upholstery Den. The two ran the upholstery business for more than 20 years before retiring in 2005.

Joe is survived by his wife, Dolores (Lorrie) Roschow, of 58 years, whom he married on July 22, 1961; his two sons, Joseph C. Loholdt (Kelly) of Williamstown, Mass., and Jeffrey M. Loholdt (Carrie) of Adams, Mass.; two brothers, Charles of North Adams and George of Williamstown; one brother in-law, Fred Roschow of Bristol, N.H.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Leo (1993), Harold (2000), Anthony (2002); and his sister Marion Morin (2003).

Funeral notice: A private Mass to celebrate the life of Joseph will be held at a later date and there will be no calling hours at Joe’s request.
