James E. Jamros, 82

ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. James E. Jamros, 82, of Adams died Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at his home.

He was born in Hartford, Conn., on April 5, 1937, son of the late Francis and Ella (Geisler) Jamros. He came to Adams as a child with his family, and attended Adams schools.

He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army for two enlistments from 1955 until his Honorable Discharge in 1961, and had been assigned to Korea and France at various times.

He worked at General Electric Co. in Pittsfield for many years until retiring. Earlier, he had worked at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in Adams.

He is survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Joan Lillie, and his brother, John Jamros.

James had lived a fulfilling life, always making light of every situation. He loved and appreciated time spent with his family and enjoyed having a beer with his dear friends. JJ will always hold a special place in everyone’s hearts.
