Laurette DeBlois, 94

ADAMS, Mass. — Laurette DeBlois, 94, formerly of Adams passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021 at the Landing at Laurel Lake Assisted Living Center in Lee. 

Born in Adams on Nov. 25, 1926, daughter of the late Ovide and Zenaide Guerin DeBlois, she attended the former Notre Dame Elementary School in Adams and was a graduate of the former Adams High School with the class of 1945. In 1972, she moved to Pittsfield where she was employed with the General Electric Co. in the Ordinance Division for 36 years, retiring in 1986. 

While in Adams, Laurette was a communicant of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, and also was a communicant of the former St. Francis Xavier Church in Pittsfield. "Retta" as she was best known by her family and friends, always had a kind word to share and a smile for everyone.

She was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. She is survived by a sister, Doris Derosia of Vero Beach, Fla., her niece and caregiver, Roberta Orsi of Pittsfield, a grandniece, Melissa Hall, a grandnephew, Chris Orsi, and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Ovide DeBlois Jr., and a sister, Rachel Champney. 

Funeral Services and burial in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams will be private, and there will be no calling hours.

The TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME in Adams is in charge of arrangements. The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful staff on the Memory Unit at Laural Lake, especially Lorena Shaw, and for the caring and supportive staff of Hospice of Western and Central MA

I worked with Laurette at General Electric for many years. She was such a kind person with an infectious smile. Prayers and hugs to her family in this difficult time.
