Faye Bush, 80

POWNAL, Vt. — Faye M. Bush, 80, of Bush Drive in Pownal, died July 20, 2021 at her home with her son at her side. 

Faye was born in North Adams, Mass. on Feb. 10, 1941, a daughter of the late Henry McConnell and June (Morrissey) McConnell.  She attended city schools and while living in North Adams, was employed as a sales clerk at the Hollywood Millinery and Martin's Shoe Store. After moving to Pownal, Faye was employed for many years at the Southern Vermont Supervisory Union at the Career Development Center.

Faye enjoyed cooking and baking. She was especially happy when she was preparing her yearly dinner for her colleagues at the CDC and holiday meals for her family. Her skills as a hostess were praised often and by many of her guests. Faye was an accomplished painter and completed numerous oil paintings.

She enjoyed music and her favorite musician was Yanni. She was also a huge fan of the actor John Wayne.

Faye married Harold Bush Jr. on Jan. 4 1964.  He died in December 1999. She was predeceased by her son Michael M. Bush, who died in 1973,a granddaughter, Tara L. Bush, who died in 2014, and her brothers Bruce McConnell and Wayne McConnell, both of whom died in 2020.

Faye is survived by her son Philip P. Bush (Susan), of Pownal, her grandson Philip M. Bush and his fiancee Gabi Affronti of Marion, NY,  great-grandchildren Aleigha Bush and Alexis Benoit of North Adams, Mass., and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and step grandchildren. 

Following Faye's wishes, there are no formal funeral services planned.
