William E. Burdick, 91

ADAMS, Mass. —  

William E. ‘Bill’ Burdick, 91, of Adams, died on Monday, July 25, 2022, at Albany Medical Center, after a short illness.

He was born in North Adams on July 21, 1931, the son of the late Lawrence and Helen (Reynolds) Burdick. He attended schools in North Adams, graduated from Drury High School and later, completed courses in mathematics and electrical engineering at North Adams State College. He served as a Tank Commander with the Army National Guard from 1951 through his honorable discharge in 1957.

Bill retired in 1996 as a Consulting Engineer with his business, B.P. Associates. Prior to his retirement he was a manager at the former Sprague Electric Company, for over 30 years. He was a lifelong sports and horseracing fan, accomplished bowler, and an avid fly fisherman. He also enjoyed visiting Saratoga Springs, especially in August.

He is survived by his children, Linda Miller of Saratoga Springs, NY, William Burdick, Jr. and his wife Marcia of Niskayuna, NY, Ronald Burdick and his wife Madeline of Adams, and Mark Burdick and his fiancée Sharon Kielbasa of Meriden, CT; four grandchildren, Kelly Neibergall and her husband Thad, Christopher Miller, Shawn Burdick and his wife Bridget and Justin Burdick and his fiancée Emily O’Connell; four great grandchildren, Hayley Katz, Zoey Neibergall, Ava Burdick, Carter Burdick; his brother, Larry of Williamstown, MA and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Jane (Menard) Burdick and his siblings, Gertrude (Volpi), Lawrence, Helen, Robert, Evelyn (Beckwith), Gerald, Paul, Carol (Severin), and Jack.

Calling hours at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022, 9:30 am to 10:30 am; to limit the risk of the spread of COVID, the family requests that visitors wear protective face masks. A graveside memorial service will follow at 11:00 am at Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.
