Bernice R. LaPlante, 94

ADAMS, Mass. —  Bernice Rae (Dupee) LaPlante of Adams, 94, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the Springside Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Pittsfield. Born in Adams on May 19, 1928, daughter of the late Ernest and Eura Brousseau Dupee she attended Adams schools.

She was employed for many years for the Adams/ Cheshire Regional School District in the cafeteria, retiring in 1985. After her retirement she with her husband traveled cross country by car visiting all the lower forty-eight states. They also enjoyed long walks, visiting family and friends and square dancing. Bernice was a communicant of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church in Adams.

Her husband Bernard P. LaPlante whom she married on August 14, 1947, died October 16, 2021. She is survived by her son, Michael LaPlante and his wife Cynthia of Cheshire, her granddaughter, Amber Chalmers of Adams, her great granddaughter, Skylar Baker of Adams. Several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins. Bernice was predeceased by her son, Daniel LaPlante, her sister, Ruth LaFrance, and her three brothers, Francis, Harold and William Dupee.

Services for Bernice will take place Monday September 26, 2022 at 10 AM from the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, MA. 01220. Burial will be at a later date in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams, there are no calling hours. Donations in her memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
