HOLBROOK, Mass. – The Cinderella run of the Mount Greylock boys basketball team came to an end on Friday in a 75-60 loss to Holbrook in the Division 5 State Quarter-Finals.
Armani Perkins led No. 14 Holbrook with 37 points, including 12-for-14 shooting from the foul line to send his team to next week’s semi-finals against either David Prouty or Roxbury Prep, who meet on Saturday in Spencer.
Mount Greylock senior Max McAlister led his team with 24 points, making four of the Mounties’ six 3-pointers.
Holbrook took control of the game with a 26-16 third quarter to open a 61-48 lead. Perkins had 14 points in that quarter, making all seven of his foul shots.
Chase Doyle and Seamus Barnes, like McAlister, ended their careers in a Mount Greylock uniform on Friday. Doyle scored 18 points, and Barnes added 12.
The 22nd-seeded Mounties finish the season with a record of 17-7, including a 3-1 record – two of those wins on the road.
