CHESHIRE, Mass. — There will be no contested races in Cheshire during this May election, a far cry from recent balloting that attracted quite a bit of interest for the Board of Selectmen.

This town election, seats will mostly be filled with incumbents with only a few newcomers trying their hand at town government.

Incumbent Jason Levesque  will run unopposed for a seat on the Board of Selectmen. He was elected last May to finish the last year of term left vacant by Town Administrator Edmund St. John IV, who had quit to apply for his current post.

Another incumbent, Adam Emerson, will seek to return to the Hoosac Valley Regional School Committee.

Barbara Astorino will return to the Board of Assessors without a challenge as will Stephen LaFogg to the Cemetery Commission.

Incumbent Jeffrey Warner and Michael Kruszyna are vying for a three-year seat on the Board of Health while newcomer Brian Trudeau is unchallenged for a one-year seat..

Former Board of Health member Mickey Biagini will seek a seat on a new board and will run unopposed for Water Commission.

No papers were taken out for a vacant Planning Board seat.

Editor's note: updated March 21 to correct an error in the Board of Health candidates.
