PANCAKE BREAKFAST TO BENEFIT BART STUDENTS

Please join us for a Pancake Breakfast to help support student activities and programs at BART (Berkshire Arts & Technology) Charter Public School. The event will take place at St. Charles Church, 89 Briggs Avenue, Pittsfield, Massachusetts (located behind Harry's Supermarket). Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, muffins and beverage. $10/Adults - $5/Youth 12 and under. Tickets are available from any BART Student or at the door.

CHILI & CHOWDER COOKOFF

Cheshire Lions Club will hold its second annual Chili & Chowder Cookoff at the Bass Water Grill. Visit the Lions Club Facebook page to enter or call/tex Paula at 413-329-5759. There is a $20 entry fee; restaurants are welcome and prizes will be awarded. Admission to sample and judge is $10.

YACHAD SHABBAT
Great Barrington, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
A special Saturday morning Shabbat celebration includes joining together in prayer and song for a unique Yachad Shabbat.  Hevreh’s Yachad Shabbat combines a Shabbbat celebration with Religious School for a morning of prayer and learning together. Following services, students will return to their classrooms while parents and adults have the choice of various learning sessions. The day will conclude with a delicious Shabbat lunch and singing. Hevreh is located at 270 State Road.

BCC WELLNESS DAY
Pittsfield, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Berkshire Community College's Physical Therapist Assistant Club will hold its third annual Wellness Day, an event dedicated to the health and well-being of the local community, at BCC's Paterson Field House located at 1350 West St.. The event will feature free educational booths as well as exercise classes and chair massages ($5 per half-hour exercise class or 10-minute chair massage). The event is free to the public, with nominal fees for massages and exercise classes. All proceeds of the event go to EMPOWERSCI, a nonprofit organization that was established to enable individuals with spinal cord injuries to lead happier, more meaningful and independent lives.

BCC OPEN HOUSE

Berkshire Community College will host a traditional open house. Prospective students and their guests are invited to campus to meet one-on-one with BCC representatives from various offices. Attendees will also hear directed from current BCC students about their experiences and take a campus tour. The event will also include informational breakout sessions about paying for college, transferring to a four-year college or internships and career opportunities. Register online.

VIETNAM VETERANS DAY CEREMONY

VVA Chapter 65, American Legion Post 68 & VFW Post 448 will hold a Vietnam Veterans Day ceremony at Park Square to honor the 27 members of the military killed in action in Vietna, who were from Berkshire County. Keynote speaker will be Scott Gagnon, with opening remarks by John Harding.

NORTH ADAMS DEM CAUCUS

Registered Democrats in North Adams will be holding a caucus for wards 2, 3, 4, & 5 at the North Adams Housing Authority Community Room, Ashland Street, to elect delegates and alternates for the 2017 Massachusetts Democratic Convention on June 3 at DCU Center in Worcester. At this convention, delegates will be voting on the party platform. Delegates will be divided equally between men and women. In the spirit of inclusion, youth, minorities, and people with disabilities who are not elected may apply to be add-on delegates either at the caucus or online.

THE HISTORY OF THE MASONS AND EASTERN STAR IN WILLIAMSTOWN

VICTOR BORGE TALK

Daughter Frederikke Borge (known to family, friends and audiences as Rikke) returns to Ventfort Hall Mansion and Gilded Age Museum.  She will share a series of video clips from her private collection that portray her father, Victor Borge, at his legendary funniest on stage. SOUP TASTING

"Souper" Celebration Soup Tasting fundraiser will be held Saturday, the Dalton Senior Center, 40 Field Street Ext in Dalton. It will benefit and mark the 25th anniversary of the Dalton Community Sunday Lunch Program. Churches and civic groups from Dalton and Hinsdale served over 1500 hot meals as part of this local safety net in 2016.  Soups and hearty breads from area restaurants and caterers, desserts and beverages are on the menu. 'IN OUR SON'S NAME'

Old Chatham Quaker Meeting will screen “In Our Son’s Name,” potluck at 6 p.m., film at 7 p.m., in the Old Chatham Quaker Meetinghouse, 539 County Route 13, Old Chatham, N.Y., across from Pitt Hall Road and Powell House. The film is an intimate portrait of Phyllis and Orlando Rodriguez, whose son, Greg, dies with thousands of others in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. 'THE WHALE'

Town Players of Pittsfield presents “The Whale” by Samuel D Hunter at the Whitney Center for the Arts, 42 Wendell Ave. Charlie weighs 600 pounds. He is a gentle but grieving giant beached on a couch in Northern Idaho. Isolated from the outside world, Charlie spends his days surrounded by empty food containers and the essays from students he teaches in on-line English classes, seeing no one but his nurse and only friend Liz. Donations of nonperishable food items will be collected for distribution to local food pantries at the door of each show. LEGO ROBOTICS CHALLENGE
Lenox, 9 a.m.
The 18th annual Berkshire Robotics Challenge at the Duffin Theater at Lenox Memorial Middle and High School. The event is free and open to the public. This year’s Challenge, “Animal Allies,” features a field of 26 teams with 183 students from all over Berkshire County, using programmable robots to complete a variety of hypothetical missions that focus on improving interactions between people and animals. The Challenge will be competed in three rounds between 9:20 and 11:30 a.m., with the top eight point-scorers advancing to the Great Eight Playoff at 12:15 p.m. An awards ceremony – including honors for Sportsmanship & Team Spirit, Best Mechanical Design, Most Innovative Design and Best Programming – is scheduled for 1 p.m.
