THANKSGIVING MEALS FOR NORTHERN BERKSHIRE SENIORS

This year due to budget cuts we have received a new source of financial support for our Thanksgiving Meal for Northern Berkshire Seniors. All Saints Berkshire Episcopal Church reached out to our Northern Berkshire residents trying to raise financial support to provide this year’s home delivered meals to our seniors who are alone on Thanksgiving and who do not have the means of a holiday dinner.  The response was overwhelming!

For our thirty fifth year of serving the Northern Berkshire area the Thanksgiving for Seniors program will be sponsored by All Saints Berkshire Episcopal Church with funding from the Catholic Charities of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield “Rice Bowl” Relief Services and from numerous community members donations. The program is provided and organized by local volunteers from the Northern Berkshire community and by All Saints Weekend Meal Ministry.  The meal will be a traditional meal of turkey, stuffing, vegetable, gravy, cranberry sauce roll and pumpkin pie.

All Saints Berkshire located in North Adams will be delivering the meals to seniors that live in North Adams, Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, Florida Mountain, and Williamstown.  The program is for seniors 60 years of age and older who are alone on Thanksgiving and have no way of having a traditional Thanksgiving meal.  The meals are delivered on Thanksgiving Day between 11am and noon. This is a free meal and reservations for a meal is required. All seniors who wish to receive a meal must make a reservation.

Reservations can be made starting November 8th – 22nd by calling All Saints Berkshire Episcopal Church.

To make a reservation call:

All Saints Berkshire Episcopal Church 413-664-9656 Monday through Thursday from 9am-1pm Someone will be in the office to take your name and information on those days.  If no answer, leave your name, address, town and phone number on our voice mail machine.  We will call back to confirm your reservation.

We are also looking for volunteers to deliver meals to seniors on Thanksgiving Day, please call the above number to sign up to deliver the meals.

SERVICE OF LESSONS AND CAROLS
Williamstown, 4 p.m.

The annual "Christmas Service of Lessons and Carols" at Williams College will be held in Thompson Memorial Chapel. The identical services feature choral music by the College’s Concert and Chamber Choirs, congregational singing of familiar carols, and the traditional reading of the biblical Christmas story. There is no admission charge for either service, but all are encouraged to bring an item of non-perishable canned or packaged food for local emergency food pantries. The service offers a rich array of seasonal music. The repertoire of the Williams Concert and Chamber Choirs includes both traditional arrangements as well as fresh new settings of Christmas texts under the direction of Lindsay Pope, director of Choral/Vocal Activities. Chaplain to the college, the Rev. Valerie Bailey Fischer, will give the meditation. The Williams Handbell Choir will play a festive Postlude after each service.
