Josephine Magnifico, 84
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Josephine Maria Magnifico, 84, of 1 Hermon Ave. died Monday, June 2, 2014, at North Adams Commons.Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Oct. 14, 1929, daughter of Frank and Helen Valenti Romano, she attended schools in Brooklyn and graduated from Drury High School in North Adams. She also attended the McCann Technical School graduate program.
Mrs. Magnifico worked at the former North Adams Regional Hospital for 25 years until her retirement.
She was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church. She enjoyed reading and trips to Foxwoods casino. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She leaves her husband, Paul G. Magnifico, whom she married on April 14, 1951; one son, Robert Magnifico of Newtown, Pa.; four daughters, Frances Naramore of Barre, Vt., Maria Magnifico of Weymouth, Diana Murphy of Haverhill and Nancy Magnifico of Dalton; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Her two brothers are deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Magnifico will be Friday, June 6, at 8:15 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday, June 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
