Janet Rawson, 49
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Janet Chipchase Rawson, 49, formerly of Oak Street passed away on October 23, 2016, at Springside of Pittsfield after a long illness.
Born on March 8, 1967 in North Adams, she is the daughter of Christopher and Marcia Deraway Swenson of Muncie, Ind. A longtime Pittsfield resident, she was educated in North Adams schools and was a graduate of Charles McCann Technical School. She also attended Berkshire Community College.
A homemaker, she had worked at one time as a teacher and bus monitor with Head Start. She stopped working in the late 1990s due to ill health.
Janet enjoyed bingo, jewelry making, dirt biking, camping, the snow and being outdoors. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Besides her parents of Indiana, she leaves four daughters, Casandra L. Magner and her husband Jason LaBarre of Pittsfield, Melissa R. Daniels of Pittsfield, Kristina M. Rawson and her significant other Ashton Harrington of Pittsfield and Tarah Rawson-Healey of Worcester, Mass.; a son, Jeremy A. Chipchase and his wife Angela of Fair Oaks, Calif.; three brothers, Stephen P. Chipchase of Stamford, Vt., John P. Chipchase of North Adams and Christopher J. Swenson II and his wife Noka of Anderson, Ind.; two sisters, Josephine A. Swenson and her fiancé Clayton Turner of Hartford City, Ind., and Jennifer R. Swenson and her fiancé Dexter Montgomery of Yorktowne, Ind.; and her 10 loving grandchildren.
Funeral notice: A memorial service for Janet Chipchase Rawson of Pittsfield, who passed away on October 23, 2016, will be held Thursday, October 27, 2016, at noon at the Dery Funeral Home in Pittsfield. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations in memory of Janet may be made to the funeral home to help her family with funeral expenses in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
