Cora Roraback, 94

SANDISFIELD, Mass. — Cora Louise Roraback, 94, of Sandisfield died Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Fairview Commons Nursing Center in Great Barrington, with family at her side.

A lifelong resident of Sandisfield, Cora was born August 18, 1922, the daughter of Howard and Isabelle Crocker Spring and educated in its local school.

Cora married Earl J. Roraback April 22, 1950; he died in 1990.

Mrs. Roraback was a member of the New Boston Congregational Church, Sandisfield Historical Society, the Lions Club and the Council on Aging. Cora loved reading, enjoying bus trip to various places with her friends, stamp collecting, quilting and flowers.

Mrs. Roraback leaves behind her two daughters, Sandra Morrison and her husband Ralph of Sandisfield and Evelyn Loring and her husband Joe of Otis; and her grandson, Rodney Loring, and wife Laurie of Sandisfield, with whom she lived.

Besides her husband, Cora was predeceased by her three brothers, Arthur, Oliver and Homer Spring; her three sisters, Helen Genung, Fanny Hamilton and Mabel O’Brien; and her grandson, Joseph Loring Jr.

Funeral notice: Funeral services for Cora Roraback will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at noon, at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee with the Rev. Toby Quirk, officiating. Visiting hours will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will be held in the spring at Center Cemetery in Sandisfield. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation in Cora’s name to the New Boston Congregational Church in care of Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
