Michael S. Pekosz, 63
ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Michael S. Pekosz, 63, of Adams, died Monday, May 8, 2017, at his home.
He was born in Adams on January 31, 1954, a son of the late Stanley and Margaret (O’Brien) Pekosz. Following the untimely deaths of his parents, he was raised by his aunt, Charlotte Haas, who was a mother to himself and his siblings. He attended Cheshire Elementary School, and was a graduate of Hoosac Valley High School.
Mike served in the US Navy for over 21 years, stationed in many ports throughout the world. Following his retirement from the Navy, he worked at several area businesses, and last worked as a bar manager for his brother at the former CJ’s Sports Pub in Adams.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox, Dallas Cowboys and LA Lakers.
He is survived by his aunt, Charlotte Haas, of Adams; four brothers, Craig Pekosz and his wife, Karen, Richard Haas, Dusty Haas and his wife, Laurie, and Peter Haas and his wife, Linda, all of Adams; three sisters, Marcia Pekosz Tovani and her husband, Carl, of Florida, Mass., Susan Haas Columbus and her husband, Brad, of North Adams, and Deb Haas Dean and her husband, Gary, of Adams; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and his beloved pet cat.
Funeral notice: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at 1 p.m. in the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. The Rev. William D. Furey, pastor of Berkshire Union Chapel, will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.
