Ronald F. Bleezarde, 78

BEAUFORT, S.C. — Ronald Frederick Bleezarde, 78, of Beaufort, S.C., formerly of Williamstown, Mass., and Pownal, Vt., died Dec. 3, 2017, in Beaufort Memorial Hospital after battling Alzheimer's disease.

Born May 20, 1939, in Pittsfield, Mass., he was the son of Warren V. and Edith S. Bleezarde. He was married April 22, 1960, to Donna Ducayet of Stockbridge, Mass. He spent more than 25 years with the Excelsior Printing company in North Adams, Mass., then became owner of Nicholas Remainder book company in Pownal. He worked with Apple Jack Art Partners in Manchester, Vt., before retiring to Beaufort, in 2006.

He grew up and attended school in New Lebanon, N.Y., graduated from the former Cornwall Academy in Great Barrington, Mass., and from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., where he was a member of the Class of 1961, the Sigma Phi fraternity and the College Choir. He would continue singing throughout his life as a member of a number of community and church choirs.

He had been Cubmaster and Scoutmaster in Williamstown for several years.

Survivors, besides his wife, are two sons, Eric (Robin) and Mark (Julie); a daughter, Jennifer (Hector) Cajigas; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas, of Williamstown; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral notice: Following cremation, memorial services will be held in the spring with burial in Stockbridge Cemetery. Donations may be made to the local Humane Society.
