NORTH ADAMS, Msss. — Roger Robert Serre, 81, of 125 Barth St. died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown.
Born in North Adams on Aug. 30, 1931, the son of Armand "Hop" and Dorothea Luscier Serre, he attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School in 1950.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Serre was employed by North Adams Regional Hospital until his retirement. He also operated his own business, Serre Refrigeration, for several years. In his younger years, he worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. and was a firefighter with the North Adams Fire Department.
He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.
He leaves his bother, Peter Serre and his wife, Barbara, of North Adams; his former wife, Leslie Dupree of Clarksburg, and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Bernadette Marcil Serre, on Jan. 11, 1993, and his brothers Henry Serre and Glenn Serre.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A graveside service for Mr. Serre will be held in the spring in Southview Cemetery in North Adams.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
