 NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Dorothea Serre, 101, of 124 Barth St. died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at North Adams Commons.
Born in Cohoes, N.Y., on April 8, 1911, a daughter of Joseph and Ellen Gustafson Luscier, she attended schools in New York.
Mrs. Serre and her husband, Armand "Hop" Serre owned and operated the former Pete's Hideaway on the Mohawk Trail. She also had worked at the former Greylock Cotton Mills and later at the former Sprague Electric Co.
Her husband, whom she married June 18, 1928, died June 4, 1993.
She leaves two sons, Roger Serre of Williamstown and Peter Serre and his wife, Barbara, of North Adams; two grandsons, Glenn Serre of California and Michael Serre of Bennington, Vt.; two great-grandsons, Dorian and Nathan Serre, and a daughter-in-law, Beatrice Serre of Bennington.
She was predeceased by her sons Henry Serre and Glenn Serre and siblings Eva Jowett, Mary Langer and Edward and Joseph Luscier.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A graveside service for Mrs. Serre will take place at a later date in Southview Cemetery. Memorial Donations are suggested for the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
