Fred D. Primmer, 74

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Fred Daniel Primmer, 74, of 39 Middle Road died Sunday, July 21, 2013, at his home. Born in North Adams on April 24, 1939, son of I. Weston and Gwendolyn Sutton Primmer, he attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School in North Adams. He also graduated from Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield. He served with the National Guard in North Adams for 15 years. Mr. Primmer was last employed by the former General Electric Co. in Pittsfield for 35 years until his retirement in 1995. He then worked with the Association for Community Living in Clarksburg until his retirement in November 2012. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in North Adams and was a member of the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed cooking and catering and especially enjoyed working with the young people at ACL. He and his wife, the former Barbara A. Beaudin, were married on April 13, 1979. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Colleen Libby of Phoenix, Ariz.; a son, Patrick J. Primmer of Lee; two stepsons, Richard George Jr. and his wife, Jackie, of North Adams and Dale A. George and his wife, Terry, of Clarksburg; two sisters, Shirley Norman of North Adams and Sandra Cozzaglio of Lee, and nine grandchildren. His brother, Weston G. Primmer, died in 2011. FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mr. Primmer will be private and there will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
