Margaret E. George, 85

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Margaret Elaine George, 85, of 22 George Ave. died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Williamstown Commons. Born in Albany, N.Y., on July 20, 1928, daughter of Charles and Sadie Wambolt LaCrosse, she attended schools in Troy, N.Y. After raising her family, Mrs. George was employed at Storey Communications until her retirement. She was a communicant of the former Incarnation Church and a member of the Adams Turners. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her husband, Harry John George, whom she married on Aug. 5, 1950, died on Feb. 3, 2011. She leaves three daughters, Joan Conroy of the town of Florida and Christine LaCroix and Lynda Field, both of North Adams; a sister, Doris Curry of Garden Grove, Calif.; three grandchildren, April Field, Shawn Field and Jena-Lyn Bunn; four great-grandchildren, Kayla Field, Michael Field, Athena Donovan and Eddie Bunn, and nieces and nephews. Her grandson, Michael C. Field, on Aug. 14, 1994, and her brother, Charles LaCrosse, predeceased her. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. George will be Wednesday, March 5, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 4, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael C. Field Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.
