Jack F. Gigliotti, 90

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Jack F. Gigliotti, 90, of 22 Marietta St. died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Springside of Pittsfield.

Born in Fitchburg on April 21, 1924, son of Michael and Lucy Mancuso Gigliotti, he attended North Adams schools and graduated from the former Peekskill (N.Y.) Military Academy, which he attended on a musical scholarship.

An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific and received the Purple Heart and a bronze star medal.

Mr. Gigliotti was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in its North Adams office for 43 years until his retirement in 1989.

He was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church. He was a member of Post 125 American Legion and of the Disabled American Veterns of Clarksburg.

His wife, the former Eleanor Mary Quirk, whom he married on April 23, 1949, died on Nov. 12, 1997.

He leaves a daughter, Diane Kaiser of Westborough; two sons, David Gigliotti of Pittsfield and Daniel Gigliotti of Tennessee; a sister, Dorothy Wilhelm of Pittsfield; six grandchildren, Christopher Gigliotti, Jaclyn Gigliotti, Jarred Gigliotti, Amy Kaiser, Matthew Kaiser and Casey Jones; four great-grandchildren, Ava Gigliotti, Chastity Gigliotti, Aurora Jones and Xander Jones, and nieces and nephews.

His sister, Rita Marino is deceased.

FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Gigliotti will be celebrated Tuesday, May 27, at 9 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery.

Calling hours will be Monday, May 26, from 4 to 6 atFlynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Memorial donations are suggested for the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
