Agnes F. Vanuni, 84

August 17, 2014

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Agnes Frances Vanuni, 84, of 4 Woodlawn Ave. died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

Born in North Adams on May 18, 1930, daughter of Francis and Mary Burke Lynch, she attended North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1947.

Mrs. Vanuni was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for 43 years, until her retirement in 1993. She first worked at the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. and later with Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates.

She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of the Incarnation Church. She was a member of the Sprague Quarter Century Club and the Sprague Retirees. She also enjoyed bingo.

Her husband, Carl Louis Vanuni, whom she married on May 22, 1948, died on July 3, 2011.

She leaves two sons, Mark W. Vanuni and Jon M. Vanuni, both of North Adams; six grandchildren, Tammy Vanuni, Kris Vanuni, Joseph Vanuni, Kerry Vanuni, Jennifer Vanuni, and Jordan Vanuni; six great-grandchildren, Shelby O'Neil, Kalley Vanuni, Khloe Vanuni, Jocelyn Duhamel, Noah Brayman, and Michael Vanuni, and nieces and nephews.

Her siblings Mary Edgerton, James Lynch and John Lynch are deceased.

FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Vanuni will be celebrated Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Tuesday morning from 9 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels,521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial donations may be to the North Adams Commons Activities Fund in care of the funeral home.
