Cecile E. Hebert, 81
CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Cecile E. Hebert, 81, of 443 Middle Road died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at the Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield.
Born in Winooski, Vt., on June 30, 1933, a daughter of Alphonse and Cecile Viens Lanoue, she attended schools in Bennington, Vt., and graduated from Drury High School in North Adams.
Mrs. Hebert was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for many years, retiring in 1998. She had worked at the former Greylock Mills in her younger years.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. She was a member and past president of the Clarksburg Senior Center and enjoyed bowling.
She leaves her former husband, John R. "Jack" Hebert Jr. of North Adams; two daughters, Diane Hebert Sprague of Pittsfield and Cathleen Hebert Swartzer and her husband, Richard, of Stockton, Calif.; a brother, Theodore Lanoue of Bennington; a sister, Theresa Jolin of Williamstown; five grandchildren, Joshua Birns-Sprague, Aaron Sprague, Nathan Sprague, Jennifer Fernandez and Robert Swartzer; five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ava, Lyra, Oscar and Claudia Beatrix, and her son-in-law, Shaun Sprague of Adams.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Loretta Amadon, Jeanette Cozzaglio, Irene Chalmers and Helen Hattat, and three brothers, Lawrence, Eugene and Edmond Lanoue.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Hebert will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 9 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday, Dec. 1, from 4 to 7 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial donations are suggested for St. Elizabeth Church or the American Bladder Cancer Society through the funeral home.
