Louis V. Daniels, 68

ADAMS, Mass. — Louis V. Daniels, 68, of 30 John St. died Friday afternoon, Dec. 20, 2002, at North Adams Commons following a brief illness. Born in Adams on Oct. 24, 1934, son of Leo and Glorina Bedard Daniels, he was a 1955 graduate of the former Adams Memorial High School. He served with the Air Force for two years. Mr. Daniels was employed as a draftsman and designer for 23 years by GE in Pittsfield until he began working for the U.S. Department of Defense in 1981 as a designer for Army and Navy projects. He retired in 1995. An accomplished DJ, he hosted the Sunday morning "Polka Time" show on radio station WJJW at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams for many years. He enjoyed polka dancing and attended many polka events. He attended the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas. He served on the board of directors of the Adams Youth Center and the former Adams Lassie League. A member of Trout Unlimited, he was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed camping on the White River in Vermont. He leaves his wife of 44 years, the former Theresa Les; two daughters, Melanie Bushey and her husband, Michael, and Susan Davenport and her husband, Ronald, all of Adams; a son, Mark L. Daniels of Cheshire; a sister, Lorraine Horton of Adams; his beloved granddaughter, Brenna Bushey of Adams, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Leonard Daniels. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Daniels will be Monday at 8 from AUG-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be today, Sunday, from 2 to 5 at the funeral home.
