Roger J. Cooper, 69

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Roger Joseph Cooper, 69, of 222 State Road died Sunday, Feb. 23, at North Adams Regional Hospital after being stricken earlier in the day at home. Born in North Adams on July 23, 1933, son of Aileen Peck Cooper Booth and the late Joseph Cooper, he attended schools in Clarksburg. Mr. Cooper was employed by the former Arnold Print Works in Adams, retiring in 1984. He also had worked at the former Strong-Hewat Co. in Clarksburg for several years. He enjoyed lawn work, woodworking and helping others. Besides his mother, with whom he resided, he leaves a sister, Carolyn Briggs of the town of Florida; three brothers, John Cooper of Williamstown, Thomas Cooper of Clarksburg and Leonard Cooper of North Adams, with whom he also made his home; his sisters-in-law, Edna and Dorine, and his brother-in-law, Charles Briggs, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. FUNERAL NOTICE - Services for Mr. Cooper will take place Wednesday at 10 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, with the Rev. Joseph DeCosta, pastor of First Baptist Church of North Adams, officiating. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 9 until 10. Memorial donations are suggested through the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
