Louis A. Dickinson, 66

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Louis A. Dickinson, 66, of 780 Reservoir Road died peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at home, surrounded by family. Born in North Adams on Nov. 22, 1936, son of Alfred R. and Florence E. Dubie Dickinson, he attended local schools. A supervisor in the insulated wire and cord-set manufacturing industry, Mr. Dickinson worked for the Cornish Wire, General Cable and Carol Cable companies, and Triangle PWC. He retired from General Cable in 2000 after 44 years in the industry. He later worked part time as a custodian and handled the pony-intramural mail between schools in the North Adams School System. He enjoyed golf and bowling with his sons-in-law and brothers-in-law, and was in several leagues at Mount Greylock Bowl. He was everybody's favorite dance partner. He loved to work outside and enjoyed the outdoors. He immensely enjoyed the company of his family and many friends. He and his wife, the former Agnes Luczynski, were married July 14, 1956. Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters, Lisa Johnson of Williamstown, Julie Hunt of Pownal, Vt., and Karen Sherman of Terryville, Conn.; a sister, Ellen DePaoli of North Adams; three brothers, Francis Dickinson, David Dickinson and Alfred Dickinson, all of North Adams; four grandchildren, Erin Frye, Heather DeMarsico, Brittany Hunt and David Dickinson, and his brother-in-law and caregiver, Norman Lescarbeau. A brother, Edmund A. Dickinson, is deceased and another brother, Robert Dickinson, died in 1935. FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mr. Dickinson will be held Saturday, Nov. 8, at 8:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 at St. Francis Church. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Donations are suggested to VNA-Hospice of North Berkshire or St. Francis' Church in care of the funeral home.
