Margaret A. Brule, 84
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Margaret Agnes Brule, 84, of 171 Wells Ave. died Tuesday evening, Dec. 9, 2003, at North Adams Commons.
Born in North Adams on July 20, 1919, daughter of Giuseppe and Nicolina Filicetti Mancuso, she was a 1937 graduate of Drury High School.
Mrs. Brule was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co., first in the payroll department, then in the Sprague Products office for 31 years, retiring in 1986 with 36 years of service. She also had worked at the former W.T. Grant Store and was a pentagrapher and plate painter for the former Arnold Print Works.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a past vice president of the Sprague Retirees' Club. She also was a member of the Jollee Circle and the Sprague Quarter Century Club.
She enjoyed visiting casinos. In her younger years, she was a candlepin bowling champion.
Her husband, Arthur Napoleon Brule, a North Adams firefighter, whom she married Sept. 3, 1945, in St. Anthony's Church, died June 16, 1986.
She leaves a son, Wayne A. Brule and his wife, Linda Murphy Brule, of Ashland, Va.; two daughters, D. Charron Caparello and her husband, Franco, of New Hartford, N.Y., and Janice Messier and her husband, Richard, of Springfield; a stepdaughter, Norma Cournoyer of Dunnellon, Fla.; a stepson, Arthur W. Brule and his wife, Jeannette LaBombard Brule, of North Adams; a brother, Peter Mancuso of Pittsfield; four sisters, Rita Trifoni of Southbridge, and Joanne Saltamartini, Frances Schmidt and Carmela Brazeau, all of North Adams; and many grandchildren, including Jeffrey Brule, Jennifer Brule, Jennifer Mach and John Mach and many great-grandchildren, including Claire Brule, Camille Brule, Erica Mach and Tyler Mach.
She was predeceased by a stepdaughter and her husband, Lorraine and Harmidas Raymond, sisters Mary Piccolo, Catherine Lipa and Dorothy Beaupre, and her brother, Albert Mancuso.
FUNERAL NOTICE — At Mrs. Brule's request, there will be no calling hours and the omission of flowers is requested. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Dec. 12, at 2 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 70 Marshall St., by the Rev. Daniel J. O'Hear, pastor. Following the service, her family will greet family and friends at the church.
Burial will take place at a later date in the family plot at Southview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the St. Anthony Church Fund through FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements.
