Henry T. Mach, 86

CHESHIRE, Mass. — Henry Thaddeus Mach, 86, of 1454 Windsor Road died early Tuesday morning, Oct. 19, 2004, at North Adams Regional Hospital after being admitted Oct. 15 with an acute infection. Born in Adams on Feb. 8, 1918, son of Paul and Josefa Boruta Mach, he attended schools there. Mr. Mach was employed by Byron-Weston Paper Co. in Dalton, a division of Crane & Co., from 1968 until his retirement in 1980. He left school to support his family during the Depression, working at the former Stanley Slosek Hardware and other places. He also worked at the former cottons mills in Adams, sold buttermilk made at his small farm, and later worked as a cook for the former Hoosac Lake Restaurant. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church in Adams. His wife, the former Anna Veronica Michalski, whom he married Oct. 22, 1938, died in June 1987. He leaves two sons, Dr. Frederick Mach of Lanesborough and Francis Mach of Adams; a daughter, Carolyn Lozinski of Pownal, Vt.; a brother, John Mach of Adams; a sister, Jessie Pelczynski of Adams, and five grandchildren, Paul Lozinski of Petersburgh, N.Y., James Mach and Thomas Mach, both of Boston, Joseph Mach of Chicago, Lawrence Mach of Adams. A daughter, Christine Malloy, is deceased, as are two brothers, Tadeusz Mach and Joseph Mach. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Mach will be Saturday, Oct. 23, at 9 from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus' Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation through the funeral home. If Henry were able, he would like to express his gratitude to all the surgeons, doctors, nurses and staff whose efforts extended his life. He also would express gratitude for the care he received at the North Adams Commons Care Center and say goodbye to friends at the Adams Senior Citizens and to relatives.
